Demon or Ghost?

One night I woke up to my mom screaming. My mom always has nightmares about seeing people in her room staring down at her. The reason why she has this is because of her mother who played the board game the Ouija board... so i guessed it passed on to my mom from her mom.

Anyway I woke up to my mom screaming and I went to room to see if she was okay, but when I looked at my mom I noticed a dark figure with a nose and lips and legs. I couldn't see a face or arms, but what I did see was the eyes a little light that goes into our eyes, but when I turned on the lights it was gone.

I denied that I saw anything but I told my mom I believed her. The question remains - was this a ghost or a demon???
